Born and raised in Korea, Kim studied design in college before beginning a career as a designer. Later, she pursued TESOL studies and spent many years teaching English to children.  The author made her debut as a picture book creator with her first book, The Yoga Cat. She now lives in Arizona, USA, with her husband, starting a new chapter of life together. Sharing childhood games with her husband has brought them the joy of learning about each other’s cultures. As a child, her favorite games were gonggi-nori (Korean Jacks) and gomujul-nori (Rubber Band Skipping).
