$38.50

“A visually rich journey through the desires, beauty, and identity woven into Korea’s traditional clothing”
Fashion has been a universal human interest across all eras, regions, and generations. Even in Joseon society, where the clothing styles we now recognize as traditional Korean dress first took shape, people cared deeply about what they wore. Despite living in times when social class hierarchies and gender distinctions were considered natural, some still sought to express themselves and establish their identity through clothing. While there were those who focused on the virtue of maintaining a presentable appearance at all times, others dreamed of climbing the social ladder through their attire.

This book unveils the hidden stories behind Joseon-era fashion through a modern lens and contemporary language, offering readers a chance to deepen their understanding of traditional Korean clothing and gain a greater appreciation for Korea’s beautiful living heritage.
